Miss Katherine is the Studio Owner, Artistic Director and ONLY teacher and because of that she takes pride in developing a personal relationship with EACH child and their families. She also understands that every dancer learns differently so she individualizes each class for the needs of her students. The convenience of a large and SAFE parking lot at SKDP along quick access to Montville, Mountain Lakes, Parsippany, Boonton Twp, Denville and Kinnelon is just one of the reasons why families love our location. If your child takes a combo class (A Ballet & Tap class) then they would perform TWO dances in our end of the year recital. We want our dancers to showcase everything they have learned all season long and our ONE-HOUR recitals in June are professionally done and extremely organized.
Miss Katherine has over 30 years of dance experience, over 13 years of teaching dance and a BA Degree in Dance from Slippery Rock University of PA. Studio K Dance Project is a true family and we are a very family-oriented studio. When your child is enrolled here, you are part of our dance community. Miss Katherine values each and every one of her dance families and appreciates their support each and every year.

MISS KATHERINE SCLAFANI
Throughout her career Miss Katherine has trained in many forms of dance including
Modern, Contemporary, Lyrical, Ballet, Pointe, Musical Theatre, Jazz, Tap and Zumba Fitness. She started her dance studies at the young age of two at a local dance studio in Morris County, New Jersey. She later began an intense dance program at her high school in Hunterdon County, New Jersey. Katherine attended performing arts based high school where she studied under the tutelage of Cleo Mack of the Cleo Mack Dance Project, based out of the New York Metro area. Katherine trained 5 days a week for 6-8 hours a day and truly found her love for the Art of Dance.
Katherine then began her college studies at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania where she graduated with her BA in Dance in 2010. SRU is an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Dance (NASD) and the department of dance at SRU promotes dance as a true art form through creative, technical, expressive and intellectual development. The SRU Dance Department is ranked among the top 20 College and University Dance Programs in the nation by Dance- College.com. SRU also came in at No. 16 nationally and No. 2 in the state of Pennsylvania.
Once Katherine graduated with her BA Degree in Dance she moved back to New Jersey to pursue her dream. She worked with the Tiffany Mills Dance Company in Brooklyn, New York before venturing into the teaching world. In March 2014, Katherine officially opened Studio K Dance Project and began to grow her business by teaching every single class herself. As we approach our 11th Season this fall, Miss Katherine continues to teach every single one of the dancers that joins her Dance Family here at Studio K Dance Project.
